Dear Srila Prabhupada,

In this age of Kali, we can see the world has gone mad. So many wars in the world, so many demonic leaders, so many fallen souls. But also in this age of Kali Yuga, you have appeared to push this mission of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Swami Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada you have given us a purpose and direction for our time in this body. We can spend all day meditating on your qualities, and we do not have enough breath in our lungs to speak your glories.

With each word that comes from your lotus mouth, the desire to enjoy and stay in the material is destroyed. When we meditate on your personal dealings with your disciples, we can understand that you are truly the well wisher of all living entities.   When  Guru Kripa Prabhu wrote to you; “Personally, I don’t think I can ever follow all these rules. At the time I was following them, but I was being sincere. And, therefore, I have to make one request, I have read that there are three types of people who reach perfection: the nity-siddha, the kripa-siddha and the sadhana-siddha. I cannot follow all these rules, so how will I ever become perfect? I request you to make me a kripa-siddha.” Your Divine Grace wrote “All right, Guru Kripa, I will give you.”  How merciful are you Srila Prabhupada?

My your divine mercy I have seen the impact your books make on the fallen souls.  Srila Prabhupada, I beg you to bestow your mercy on this wretched soul and bless me to do something meaningful in this life. Allow me to truly understand this process of devotional service and to have the abilities to spread it to everyone I come in contact with.  Please forgive me for all my offenses at your lotus feet.

Your servant,

Partha-sarathi Dasa

    My dear son,

please accept my humble obeisances, all glories to Srila Prabhupada on his appearance day.

with all your wonderful service i am certain that Srila Prabhupada is pleased with your service. i hope to follow in your footsteps, in my own insignificant way as a measly broken on profile worthless devotee who can’t even pass a PT test!!

even so, Krsna is so kind that today was glorious! the appearacne day of Srila Prabhupada would be special. He had a liking for our american youth, years later that liking continues. today Srila Prabhupada manifests his affection for our youth by using whatever facility if available. The military is one such facility.

today I was so motivated! a wonderful story follows…after i got off duty i just ran… I ran and ran…I am not suppose to run but off duty i can break my profile when nobody is looking. put on the ipod and listen to bhajana’s i ran. alone on the track. alone in prayer, alone with the Holy Name.

my offering to Srila Prabhupada is very small. I can only do small things because i have limited vision or realization, yet still i hope that i please guru and Krsna.

so here is the funny story today.

how many soldiers can you fit in a suzuki forenza?

    7

we had to rush back to the company from a different location one mile away. for those that do not have cars not enough time to walk and get back. I packed as many soldiers into my car that could fit and drove the mile on a back road so that the MP’s would not stop and give me a ticket.

when the soldiers began to pile in they noticed an “exotic scent”. They were enchanted by this wonderful smell. I had no idea what it could have been until i noticed i left my chaddar in the back seat of the car from the trip to the temple the night before (janmastami). The chaddar made the car smell like the temple. they passed the chaddar around so each person could check it out. to me i would have never noticed, i smell the temple all the time, the scent of Krsna’s sweet form!!! the insense, ghee lamp, flowers were all new to them.

of course i have a CD playing in my dashboard, home-made temple bhajana’s. The beat of the mrdanga had the soldiers dancing in the back seat, what room there was to dance was only bouncing around. no time to cool off the car with the air condition we rolled down all the windows and flew on the back dirt road at 40 mph,(post speed is 30mph) the mountain air mixing with the temple scent, dust flying into the car and the vibration of the Holy Name.

the female specialist in the front seat took the chaddar and ever so carefully folded it again into a nice shape. She held that chaddar to her breast and took great pleasure in holding the cloth. after the back seat exited she remained a few more minutes. She asked if she could come to the temple this weekend. being a holiday weekend i can stay for prasadam. (no work on monday). She was shy and humble asking for directions to denver, when i said i would pick her up at 3:30 pm this sunday on post she was relieved. Her husband and children share only one car and it would put her family in distress to go without their car for so long.

as she was walking away i had to call for her…. can i have my chaddar back?
